When we decided to make the theme for S8 the tropes of horror, I knew this was the season for us to finally talk about Re-Animator. This is one of my favorite horror films of all time and I've been wanting to talk about this movie since S1. For some reason or another, the misadventures of Herbert West always fell to the wayside, but dissecting the mad scientist was Herbert's time to shine.

This comedy horror film is a barrel of laughs and buckets of blood in the best ways possible. Based off H.P. Lovecraft's short story Herbert West–Reanimator, the script penned by Dennis Paoli, William Norris, and our Director Stuart Gordon, is solid. The world building and dialogue is phenomenal and the best part is that the script stayed within the frame of the horror Stuart Gordon so skillfully crafted on screen. Check out E79 Giving you LIFE!
